Aldee
Holsteins is located a short distance southwest of the city of Brandon,
Manitoba, Canada. The entire herd is registered and classified.
Started in 1973 in Treherne, Manitoba by Laurie and Donna Harp, as Aldee Dairy, the farm originally consisted of Brown Swiss. After moving the operation to Brandon, the Harps purchased their first Holstein cows. So impressed with the production and heartiness of these first "black & whites", Aldee Holsteins was born. In the years since, Aldee Holsteins grew into a family operation with the increased involvement of one of Laurie & Donna's sons, Greg. Together they manage a herd of about 65 head, usually milking about 20 cows. Don't let the size of the operation fool you though. Though a relatively small herd, Aldee Holsteins breeds quality pureberd cows with an emphasis on type and their classifications show it!
